Why Attend

OSHA’s 1910.119, Process Safety Management Standard (PSM) applies to companies who have large quantities of highly hazardous chemicals or 10,000 lbs or more of a flammable liquid in their process. However, the system procedures under the standard are an effective means to control and manage hazards in any operation. Process Safety Management is a set of interrelated approaches to managing hazards associated with the process industries and is intended to reduce the frequency and severity of incidents resulting from releases of chemicals and other energy sources. They are composed of organizational and operational procedures, design guidance, audit programs, and many other control methods to minimize hazards. This 2-day workshop will look at all the elements of Process Safety Management and how to best implement them into existing company safety, quality and reliability systems.  We will look at a comprehensive PSM program and how the overall control system applies to each of the elements listed below. You will learn how and when to apply Process Hazard Analysis techniques like HAZOP, FMEA, and/or what-if/checklist analyses to any process system.
