It is an employer’s responsibility to provide a safe work-site that is free of hazards to employees. These courses give individuals the knowledge to identify and control hazards on the job-site. Workers become informed and conscious of their own safety and safety in their work setting. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) suggests that employers offer these courses to their employees to help them assist in work-place safety. The OSHA Outreach Training Program provides training for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces. It also provides information regarding workers' rights and employer responsibilities. Employers who have trained their workers with the OSHA Outreach Program for Construction have seen large reductions in injuries, the costs associated with injuries, and fewer safety violations.
