Expand Your Talent Pool By Hiring Service Members, Veterans, and Military Spouses

The Military Hiring Academy (MHA), presented by the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, aims to provide businesses with training and experiences to find, hire, and retain military talent (veterans, service members leaving the military, and military spouses).

Key Reasons Employers Should Get Involved

1. Facilitating Veteran Employment: Many veterans face challenges in transitioning from military service to civilian employment due to differences in terminology, work cultures, and the need to translate their skills and experience. The Military Hiring Academy provides guidance and resources to help employers better understand and value the unique skillsets and experiences that veterans bring to the workplace.

2. Addressing Workforce Needs: With many industries facing labor shortages, veterans represent a valuable talent pool with a diverse range of skills and training that can address workforce needs. The program helps employers tap into this pool of skilled and dedicated individuals.

3. Promoting Veteran Integration: Beyond just hiring, the Academy also focuses on retaining and supporting veterans within organizations. It provides strategies for creating an inclusive and supportive work environment that helps veterans thrive and fully integrate their talents and perspectives.

4. Fostering Partnerships: The program brings together employers, veteran service organizations, and other stakeholders to collaborate and share best practices in veteran hiring and retention. This promotes networking, knowledge-sharing, and the development of effective strategies tailored to the needs of both veterans and employers.

5. Supporting the Veteran Community: By facilitating veteran employment, the Military Hiring Academy contributes to the overall well-being and successful reintegration of veterans into civilian life, recognizing and valuing their service and sacrifices.
