The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce’s independent Political Action Committee (PAC) has endorsed 26 legislative candidates in the 2012 General Election; eight candidates for senate and 18 candidates for house. Endorsements made were based on a candidate’s collective record and not any one specific issue.
Endorsed candidates for senate include: Stan Humphries (R-Cadiz), district 1; David Givens (R-Greensburg), district 9; John Schickel (R-Union), district 11; Chris Girdler (R-Somerset), district 15; Damon Thayer (R-Georgetown), district 17; Morgan McGarvey (D-Louisville), district 19; Chris McDaniel (R-Taylor Mill), district 23; and Robert Stivers (R-Manchester), district 25.
Endorsed candidates for house include: Richard Heath (R-Mayfield), district 2; Kenny Imes ( R-Murray), district 5; Tim Kline (R-Owensboro), district 7; Jim Gooch (D-Providence), district 12; Tommy Thompson (D-Owensboro), district 14; Jeff Greer (D-Brandenburg), district 27; Ron Crimm (R-Louisville), district 33; Jonathan Shell (R-Lancaster), district 36; Rick Rand (D-Bedford), district 47; Bob DeWeese (R-Louisville), district 48; David Floyd (R-Bardstown), district 50; Kim King (R-Harrodsburg), district 55; Brian Linder (R-Dry Ridge), district 61; Ryan Quarles (R-Georgetown), district 62; Donna Mayfield (R-Winchester), district 73; Joshua Howard (R-Pineville), district 87; Robert Benvenuti (R-Lexington), district 88; and Tanya Pullin (D-South Shore), district 98.
The Kentucky Chamber PAC considered candidates who submitted answers to the 2012 Candidate Survey and reviewed the voting records of incumbents. Based on this review, the Chamber PAC endorsed candidates who demonstrated a willingness to support Kentucky’s business community.
